Luke Cronin and Conrad Krytusa, Bridgewater College junior music majors, will present a joint recital on Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Carter Center for Worship and Music on the College’s campus.
On trumpet, Cronin will perform “The Bride of the Waves” by Herbert Clarke, “Badinage” by Eugène Bozza and “Caprice” by Joseph Turrin. On trombone, Krytusa will perform “Southeastern Rhapsody” by Frank Gulino, “Après Un Rêve (After a Dream)” by Gabriel Fauré and “Morceau Symphonique, Op.88” by Alexandre Guilmant.
To close the program, Cronin and Krytusa will duet “Pastorale” by Eric Ewazen. Amy Robertson, adjunct instructor of music at Bridgewater College, will accompany both Cronin and Krytusa on piano.
Cronin, from Lovettsville, Va., is a drum major in the Screamin’ Eagles Marching Band and the pep band, as well as a member of the trumpet ensemble, Symphonic Band and jazz combo. Cronin studies trumpet under Dr. Christine Carrillo, Associate Professor of Music at Bridgewater College.
“I would like to thank my friends and family for pushing me to always do my best and help me become the trumpet player and person I am today. I also want to thank my mom for always believing in me and helping with everything I do,” Cronin said.
Krytusa, from Aldie, Va., also is a member of the Screamin’ Eagles Marching Band, Symphonic Band and jazz combo. Krytusa studies trombone under Kyle Remnant, Bridgewater College’s pep band director.
“I would like to thank everyone who supported me through the years to get to this point: old band directors, friends and my parents who always encouraged me to do what makes me happiest,” Krytusa said.
The recital is free and open to the public.
