Bridgewater College offices will be closed starting at noon on Friday, December 20 through Wednesday, January 1 for the holiday season. Campus offices will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 2.

For those wishing to make a contribution to the College in this tax year, gifts can be made at bridgewater.edu/give or by mail to Bridgewater College, Box 33, 402 East College Street, Bridgewater VA 22812. Credit card gifts must be completed on or before December 31, 2024, to be counted as a 2024 gift. Checks must be postmarked on or before December 31, 2024. Junior Voice Recital

Sopranos Danielle R. Cunningham and Jenna K. Hallock will present a junior voice recital March 15 at Bridgewater College.

Danielle R. Cunningham and Jenna K. Hallock will present a junior voice recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, in the Concert Hall in the Carter Center for Worship and Music at Bridgewater College.

For her soprano recital, Cunningham will perform “The Centipede” and “Wanted: Good Woman” from In Pursuit of Happiness by Gordon Myers, “Come Ready and See Me” by Richard Hundley and “Love’s Philosophy” by Roger Quilter. She will also perform “V’adoro Pupille” from Giulio Cesare by George Frideric Handel, “Romance” by Claude Debussy and “L’Heure Exquise” by Reynaldo Hahn.

Cunningham, a music major, is the daughter of Michael and Denise Cunningham of Bristow, Va.

For her soprano recital, Hallock will perform “Deh Vieni, non tardar” from Le Nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “An Chloe” by Mozart and “An die Musik” by Franz Schubert. She will also perform “The Reward” by John Jacob Niles and “Gordon Myers 1” and “Gordon Myers 2” by Gordon Myers. Hallock will also perform “In My Own Little Corner” from Cinderella by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein II and “No One Else” from Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 by Dave Malloy.

Cunningham and Hallock will perform two duets—“Evening Prayer” from Hänsel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck and “Some Things Are Meant to Be” from Little Women by Jason Howland.

Hallock, a psychology and music double major, is the daughter of Brad and Karla Hallock of Frederick, Md.

Both Cunningham and Hallock study voice under Dr. Melissa Sumner Swisher, adjunct in music at Bridgewater College. Lacey Johnson, instructor of music at the college, will accompany both musicians on the piano.

Both vocalists are members of the Concert Choir, the Chorale and Chordially Yours, a student-run female a cappella ensemble. Hallock serves as co-director of the Handbell Choir.

The recital is free and open to the public.
