Executive Director of United Way to Speak April 19

Laura Toni-Holsinger, executive director of United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County since January 2014, will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

Laura Toni-Holsinger, executive director of United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County since January 2014, will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, in Cole Hall at Bridgewater College.

Toni-Holsinger will speak on “Can You Hear Me? Listening and Living UNITED” as part of Bridgewater College’s Earth Day celebration. Earth Day is Sunday, April 22.

Toni-Holsinger is a nonprofit management and leadership professional with 14 years of experience in program management, fund development, strategic planning, human resources, operations management and staff and volunteer recruitment.

Prior to United Way, Toni-Holsinger served as the development and strategy consultant for Harrisonburg’s RISE Faith Community.

She spent the first seven years of her career serving in Boston, first as an AmeriCorps member working in the Boston Public Schools, and then in various roles at City Year Boston and Big Sister Association of Greater Boston.

Toni-Holsinger also serves on the Friendly City Food Co-op Board of Directors, Valley Business Keynote Steering Committee and Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce’s BOLD Mentoring Program Steering Committee and was named to the Daily News-Record’s “Top 10 Under 40 Business Leaders” in 2015.

She earned a degree in communication studies from Virginia Tech and a master of public administration from Suffolk University.
