The class of 2026 visual arts students will present their senior thesis exhibition entitled “Kolliding Scopes” on Monday, April 13 from 5-8 p.m. at Bridgewater College. The exhibit will run from April 13 to May 1, 2026.

The 23 senior art students will display their work in different locations across campus. Maps of these locations are available in the Beverly Perdue Art Gallery in the Forrer Learning Commons. Attendees are invited to stop by each show and enjoy light refreshments and conversation with the artists.

“Kolliding Scopes” is the culmination of the capstone course for art and digital media arts majors. The course was co-taught by art professors Scott Jost and Eric Kniss who guided the seniors through the creation and development of their artistic series.

The show will feature a wide variety of digital and material media including acrylic paint, multimedia, ceramics, photography, website design, digital 3D modeling and illustration and animation. Participating artists are Kaitlyn Atchison, Sebastian Bandell, Lauren Barden, Cierra Cannon, Joshua Christian, Rosie Clark, Brooke Conwell, Tess Dean, Maria Gavriilidou, Caroline Greene, Haley Gsell, Brand Hagerman, Lillian Hayden, Lauren Henderson, June Holm, Isaiah Huff, Andrew Lam, Stphen Layton, Gontse Motsheko, Tyler Ramos, Amir Suboh, Grace Warren and Charlotte Weaver.

In addition to creating their individual work, the senior class developed a visual identity for the exhibit, designing a logo, event poster and social media posts to market the show and increase attendance.

The name, “Kolliding Scopes,” was Amir Suboh’s idea, agreed upon by the group. He also designed the logo for the group, using the kaleidoscope as inspiration. He bought a real kaleidoscope for a visual reference, noticing how the many pieces inside work together to create a picture.

“The kaleidoscope reflects us all working on our own artistic identities,” Suboh said. “But they will all come together in the show.”

Following the exhibit, each senior will give a formal presentation showing the creative processes behind their work. The artist talks will be held on Wednesday, April 15, starting at 6 p.m. in Bowman 101. This event is open to the public.
