Three Bridgewater College seniors, Charles F. German, Matthew S. Kelley and Cheyenne S. Mitchell, were recognized for excellence during the college awards ceremony.
The department of mathematics and computer science presented the Outstanding Senior in Computer Science to German, the Outstanding Senior in Information Systems Management to Kelley and the Outstanding Senior in Mathematics to Mitchell.
German, a computer science major with minors in physics and mathematics, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick German of King George, Va. German is a member of the Philomathes Society, Bridgewater’s scholastic honor society; Alpha Chi, a national scholastic honor society; and Sigma Pi Sigma, a national physics honor society. He serves as president of the BC Computing Club.
All three winners graduated on May. German is a junior software engineer for Leidos in Charlottesville, Va.
Kelley, a mathematics major with a minor in business administration, lives in Richmond, Va. Kelley, who completed his studies in December 2018, was a member of the BC Computing Club and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), a professional human resources membership association.
Mitchell, a chemistry and mathematics double major, is from Whitehall, Pa. She is a member of the Philomathes Society and serves as treasurer of the campus chapter of Alpha Chi. She serves as treasurer of the BC Chemistry Club. During the 2019 spring semester, Mitchell studied abroad at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, Canada.
