Endowed Lecture: Ertharin Cousin

Ertharin Cousin will present an endowed lecture at Bridgewater College on Wednesday, March 26.
Cousin will speak on, “Hunger and Humanitarianism.” Cousin became an influential figure in global hunger work when she was named as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture in 2009. She served in this role until 2012 when she became the twelfth Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme, a position she held for five years. Now, Cousin is the Frank E. and Arthur W. Payne Distinguished Lecturer at Stanford University’s Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and a Distinguished Fellow of Global Food and Agriculture at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. She has been listed as one of the TIME 100 Most Influential People and the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women.
The endowed lecture is sponsored by the Anna B. Mow Symposium on Comparative Religious Ethics and the Harry W. and Ina Mason Shank Peace Studies Endowment and is co-presented by the Office for Community Engagement and Sustainability. It is free and open to the public.
