Student life at Bridgewater is anything but usual. In fact, you'll find that we're a very active campus. Students, faculty, and staff alike lend their time and talents toward creating a campus culture that is both informative and fun.
At Bridgewater, you'll frequently be presented with opportunities to see beyond yourself and inspired to share your abilities with the world around you. Whether it's a neighborhood retirement home or a local church or another country halfway around the globe, you'll learn how to step up to challenges and lead the way in creating change that benefits others. In the process, you'll develop a depth and breadth of knowledge and skills that both employers and graduate school admissions staff value.
Campus Activities
Help organize -- or just attend -- a wide assortment of events held on campus every year. There's the Spring Fest Carnival and May Day Dance. Add that to our robust schedule of live concerts, movie nights, coffeehouse series, whitewater rafting trips, game nights, comedians, hypnotists, plays, musicals, and game shows like BC Idol, and you'll find that something's always going on at Bridgewater.
Clubs and Organizations
Choose from more than 70 social, cultural, religious, and academic clubs and organizations designed to help you develop skills -- such as leadership, communication, and organization -- that are important in every area of life. Plus, you'll make new friends!
Convocations
Connect learning to life with a wide range of programs designed to help you navigate through issues affecting pop culture, politics, technology, ethics, and more. Events include films, speakers, presentations, campus worship, musical performances, and travel experiences.
Residence Life
Be within a short walking distance to everything -- your classes, your professors, your friends, the dining hall, Kline Campus Center, computer labs, workout facilities, clubs and organizations, sports, campus events, and much more. If you ask any student what they like the most about being a student at Bridgewater, many will bring up living on campus first because of the fun and energetic community they find. Because our students are so involved in the Bridgewater community, they enjoy living on campus and staying close to all the action.
Service Learning
Complete a service learning component as part of your PDP and help solve problems of communities in need. We offer a service learning center and many other resources to help you find organizations in need of assistance, and your advisor can help you find an opportunity that matches your interests and academic pursuits. For example, you might provide childcare, tutor young students, assist residents at a retirement community, or help middle-school students with homework.
Sports and Recreation
Stay fit while learning teamwork by either competing with the award-winning Eagles varsity teams or participating in our intramurals and club sports. Bridgewater boasts a very active equestrian team, as well as opportunities in other popular sports.
In addition to campus activities, you'll have access to a wide range of resources through Student Services, including programs affecting careers, academics, financial aid, counseling, health, and more. We also offer special programs and resources for commuters, including a Commuter Student Lounge where you can study, relax, or catch up with friends. |
